Let me see where do I start, what have I used to learn? There are so many but I mainly prefer to use magazines as reference tools as I don't have to be online to use them, but you know the good thing about most things on the net is that "Its free" and you cant beat a free lunch!
Well the first site I'm going to refer to is The BBC's IT Page http://www.bbc.co.uk/webwise/ and their Web Wise section. This I used to deliver a presentation lesson for developing skills in the workplace. What I liked about the site was that it was very basic, straight forward and practical. It allowed users the time to build confidence, practice and most importantly get to use and understand terms, acronyms, and jargon's (chocolate for Tech heads).
The second is the Guardian Technology section on Thursdays and well now round the clock whenever you want if you have web access. This covers many things especially the Ask Jack section which is all about solving readers issues and requests. This is especially useful as computers or maybe PCs (for all the Mac users out there) are always throwing up different things from viruses to unknown codes (don't make users suffer from these strange anomalies???? I wonder)
What it has taught me is how to fix my own problems at least attempt too (as I've mentioned my laptop/PC is the centre of my universe (strange but I don't do mobile browsing/emails no Blackberry or an Archos for me unless its a gift You all know when my birthday is abi). A computer is like anything else whens its running well everything is perfect, when its not frustration becomes your middle name.
My favourite thing about it it is it has readers opinions, experiences and recommendations . allowing you to gain different perspectives. It keeps me up to date with the goings on in the IT world from games to phones to new software.
There is another site I'm going to use but the name has slipped me completely ill be with you next week for it gotta do a desktop search (Copernic, Google and Yahoo do one, check it out their invaluable). Found it; http://www.lasa.org.uk/ (wasn't exactly next week, well I did find it but didn't post it up!) This was the site whose web health check allowed to find out about the delights of Ctrl + Alt + Delete. (who remembers the day when they learnt about it its like learning to drive or swim Ahhhh! Sorry for the uninitiated Ctrl Alt Delete pressed at he same time allows you to access Task manager which allows you to end tasks that may be freezing your computer. If you don't know know you know.

Day One
This is my first day at the keyboard for my blog. Its interesting as I type as I'm self aware of other people reading this (I'm having a conversation with you all right now imaging you on reading my words on my screen) thinking Eliyas what is this all about? But hey like the title says my brown eyez what I see and how I interpret it As Morpheus from the Matrix says to Neo "Welcome to real world!".
So as my friend Esther sent me a card on Facebook today saying "Why I love my computer- because my friends live in it!" Well I should upgrade that statement (as this is the Web 2.0 era) and say I love my computer because my lifes(pay attention to the plurality) live in it...Yes scary but true! Can I get a witness? LL said I can't live without my radio in the movie Krush Groove. I'm saying "I cant live without my laptop" (doesn't sound as good or cool though lol)
Well as you read on you will realise why that is the case no name calling please its 2009 I'm not a geek, tech head no mark well maybe i am to some, but like some people love there mobile phone ipod or radio, i love my laptop (well yes i guess i do love my computer its essential in my life)
hey just look at the first African American president he cant live without his Crackberry aka blackberry (Watch this space for the headlines Obama's on crack! )
Well the president of the USA is a perfect example his use of the Internet sorry new media they was paramount in him mobilizing support, donations and transferring those into the most important currency (sorry pitbull with lipstick, the best man won) votes! So for example I watched a tech TV show which informed us of many firsts
President obama was the first president to take his presedential picture with a digital camera
he was the first to give his weekly talks online ill post the link asap
Obama has changed the policy of the president because of his love for new media and gadgets he ghas got the secret servicee in a spin due to gprs technoloy on jis blackberry phone call tracing etc. Man i wonder if he uses yahoo messenger can he do that at work i guess that wat comes with being the most powerful man in the world
Any back to me where and how have i picked up my it skills well for those who know Zx spectrum paper boy anyone? post sinclair Microsoft and apples really its funny im self taught in all i can do (even though i will be calling on all friends and familuy for Excel tutorials as im a novice so be warned abi) Gosh theses blogs allow you to ramble ( a bad aspect of web 2:0 in mu opinion, i hope im interesting and entertaining u)
